FAQs
What do the red and black wires do?
The black wire (-) serves as the ground, while the red wire (+) provides power. Attach the red wire to the battery’s positive terminal and the black wire to the negative terminal, and you’re set!
Pin 1 (red): VCC (10-30) V DC (+) = power supply
Pin 7 (black): GND (-) = ground pin
What do the other wires do?
They are used for accessories and programming. Ignore them.
Where should I mount the tracker for the best signal?
Install it with the writing side facing up, away from metal obstructions. Ideal locations include under the dashboard or behind interior panels.
What may block the signal?
A few things to look out for:
- Heavy foliage or dense trees – Thick trees and leaves can weaken or obstruct GPS signals.
- Underground or enclosed spaces – Locations like basements, tunnels, or parking garages can prevent the GPS signal from reaching the tracker.
- Weather conditions – Severe weather, such as heavy rain or snow, can degrade the signal quality.
We use Telstra’s 4G LTE M (CAT-M1) network, known for its strong and extensive coverage across Australia. It’s the most reliable network and will be the last to experience any issues.
Can I install the tracker myself?
Yes, if you’re comfortable with wiring. Otherwise, hiring an auto electrician ($70–$160) is recommended.
Will the tracker drain my car battery?
After 5 minutes of inactivity, the tracker enters a smart sleep mode to prevent battery drain and ensure a smooth playback history.
It will wake up when it senses motion or once per day to reconnect to our servers and report its current location and status.
The tracker uses minimal power (5 to 12mA per hour), but if the vehicle sits unused for multiple months, it may affect the battery.
Does the tracker have a backup battery?
Yes, the tracker has a 170mAh backup battery that lasts about 2 hours. If thieves remove the car battery and tow the vehicle, setting up a geofence will alert you if it moves out of your designated area.
Does the tracker work with all vehicles?
Yes, as long as the vehicle has a 12V (common in cars) or 24V (common in trucks and heavy vehicles) power system.
